Over the past few seasons, no team has been more comfortable in moving around the selection order than the Philadelphia Eagles, and this year should be no exception, according to Rob Maadi (Yahoo! Sports). The Eagles have been rumored to be in on pretty much every single deal involving a top flight wide receiver this off-season, and although they lost some leverage when they traded away the second of their two first round picks to get Pro Bowl tackle Jason Peters from the Bills, they still may end up sending their other top pick to get Donovan McNabb the superstar playmaker he needs at WR.
Chad Ocho Cinco, Anquan Boldin, and Braylon Edwards are all on the trading block, and could probably be had for Philly’s remaining pick in round one. Philadelphia already has one of the better WR corps in the league right now, with DeSean Jackson, Kevin Curtis, Jason Avant, Hank Baskett, and Reggie Brown holding down the fort, but that still leaves them without a true star at the position. Adding a Boldin or a Edwards would certainly solve that issue, but are they worth the 21st overall pick? That’s something the Eagles will have to decide before they hit the clock on Saturday.
One way or another, you can expect Philly to move around a bit though, as they’ve shown themselves to not be afraid of taking risks by trading up or down depending on what they need in the draft. And if they can obtain a solid receiver in the process, they could find themselves right back in the thick of things next year with a shot at yet another Super Bowl.
