According to Pat Clifton (Warpaint Illustrated), a source close to the situation has indicated that a Glenn Dorsey trade to Atlanta could very well come to fruition this weekend and the Chiefs would receive the Falcons 1st round pick (#24 overall) along with their third round selection (#90 overall) in return.
The hardest part of this deal would be that the Chiefs are on the hook for the remainder of Dorsey’s guaranteed money, which comes out to about $18 million give or take. Somehow I doubt that Kansas City GM Scott Pioli will want to eat that kind of cash, even if he can get a nice deal from Atlanta as a result. Also, giving up a top five pick from last season for a late 1st and 3rd round pick this year doesn’t seem to add up, although teams are not relying on the Jimmy Johnson trade value chart nearly as much as they used to these days.
