Engram stops off in KC

For the past two seasons, the Chiefs have done everything they could to all but eliminate older veterans from the team, save for a few franchise icons like Tony Gonzalez, Brian Waters, and Donnie Edwards.

There’s a different tune being played these days though, and instead of going younger, Kansas City is trying to gain the leadership and poise veteran players bring to the table.

According to Adam Schefter, the Chiefs are currently meeting with free agent WR Bobby Engram, a 13 year veteran of multiple teams and offensive schemes.

Engram has little to offer in the way of speed or explosiveness, but his reliability as a receiver when the ball is thrown in his direction is unquestionably beneficial, especially to a Chiefs team that has a major shortage of proven winners on its roster.
