Texans talking to Smith

We haven’t heard too much out of Houston today, but that could all change depending on how well their visit with DE Antonio Smith goes.

Smith is currently slated to meet with the Texans today, and given some of the comments from assorted sources surrounding the team, Houston seems dead set on not letting him leave without a signed contract in hand.

The Texans are looking to give DE Mario Williams help on the opposite side of the field, and Smith should be able to handle that role nicely. He doesn’t wow anyone with all-world talent, but he is versatile and can get after the QB. He should fit in nicely among a Houston locker room that has a solid balance of veterans and youth.
