Harrison, Steelers talking extension
The Pittsburgh Steelers are not the type to rest on their laurels after winning an unprecendented sixth Super Bowl title and while they may have more pressing needs to address elsewhere, they’ve decided to make the NFL’s defensive player of the year, James Harrison, their top priority.
According to James Walker (ESPN), the Steelers have actively entered negotiations with Harrison’s agent, communicating several times a day, and feel confident that they’ll be able to hammer out a long term contract for their superstar defender.
Last season, Harrison made a paltry $1.2 million while racking up 101 tackles, 16 sacks, seven forced fumbles, and the most memorable play in recent Super Bowl history, with his 100 yard interception return for a touchdown to end the first half.
