Harrison finished in Indy
According to Adam Schefter (NFL.com), the Colts will release WR Marvin Harrison very soon, slashing close to $7 million off their books before the NFL’s free agency period begins later next week.
Harrison has enjoyed a remarkable career with the Colts, and will likely find his way into the Hall of Fame one day, but his legacy has been tarnished somewhat after legal trouble surfaced last year. Harrison was implicated in a shooting in his home town of Philadelphia, but no charges were filed.
Given his age and rapid decline in his ability to seperate from defenders, it’s doubtful that Harrison will find many suitors this off-season, but there may be a few teams willing to give him a fair deal to come in and provide a quality possession receiver over the middle on third down.
