Colts cutting Harrison loose

That was quick.

Just a few short days after he quietly leaked his request to be released from his contract in Indianapolis, Colts WR Marvin Harrison has gotten his wish, according to a breaking report on ESPN, and will be set free officially within the next two days.

Harrison was opposed to any sort of salary restructuring deal with the Colts, who are in the midst of reorganizing their top assets and letting go of veterans whose salary has surpassed their consistency on the field. Harrison was one such player, as injuries and age have finally begun to take a toll on the future Hall of Fame wide receiver.

Harrison was set to make $13.4 million this season in Indianapolis, a figure the team could ill afford to carry with all of the other needs they’ll be looking to address this off-season.
