The Associated Press is reporting that former Rams head coach Scott Linehan has turned down an offer from the 49ers to become the team’s new offensive coordinator. Apparently, Linehan was not comfortable with moving his family across the country to San Francisco.
Linehan was the frontrunner for the position, but now the 49ers will likely turn to Rob Chudzinski (Browns) and Clyde Christensen (Colts) as their next targets to fill the position.

Former St. Louis Rams head coach Scott Linehan is in San Francisco to interview for the 49ers offensive coordinator vacancy, according to the Associated Press.
Linehan was fired in St. Louis after leading the Rams to a terrible 11-25 record over two seasons plus with the team. He was replaced on an interim basis by defensive coordinator Jim Haslett. The Rams are currently in the midst of interviewing a number of strong candidates for the position.
