Jags jets south to run Bucs offense

Adam Schefter (NFL.com) is reporting that former Boston College head coach Jeff Jagodzinski has been hired as the new offensive coordinator in Tampa Bay.  Jagodzinski was fired earlier this month after he went against the wishes of his athletic director and interviewed for the Jets head coaching vacancy.

49ers rolling with Raye on offense

According to Adam Schefter (NFL.com), the San Francisco 49ers have decided on Jimmy Raye as their new offensive coordinator. Raye has previously worked with the Jets as their running backs coach, and was widely praised for his work last season in developing New York’s potent rushing attack.

Jackson ready to bolt from Baltimore?

According to Jamison Hensley (Baltimore Sun), Ravens quarterbacks coach Hue Jackson has emerged as the frontrunner to become the next offensive coordinator in San Francisco, after Jackson met with 49ers head coach Mike Singletary for a second time this week.

Jackson has been with the Ravens for just one year, but his role in developing rookie QB Joe Flacco has not gone unnoticed around the league. Jackson was previously the offensive coordinator for Atlanta and Washington.

Linehan takes on challenge of a lifetime

Citing sources close to the organization, Chris Mortensen (ESPN) is reporting that the Detroit Lions have agreed to a deal that would bring former St. Louis Rams head coach Scott Linehan to Motown to become the Lions new offensive coordinator.

Linehan previously declined an offer from the San Francisco 49ers to handle the same position, and was considered to be the frontrunner for the OC job in Tampa Bay under Buccaneers head coach Raheem Morris.

Linehan will join newly hired head coach Jim Schwartz along with defensive coordinator Gunther Cunningham to form the nucleus of the Lions coaching staff in 2009.

Linehan says no to the 49ers

The Associated Press is reporting that former Rams head coach Scott Linehan has turned down an offer from the 49ers to become the team’s new offensive coordinator. Apparently, Linehan was not comfortable with moving his family across the country to San Francisco.

Linehan was the frontrunner for the position, but now the 49ers will likely turn to Rob Chudzinski (Browns) and Clyde Christensen (Colts) as their next targets to fill the position.
