Broncos' Brandon Marshall shares racist letter he received in mail

Denver Broncos linebacker Brandon Marshall shared to Instagram on Friday a racist letter he said he received in the mail at his team's practice facility. Its author likely doesn't understand that taking the time to write out such hateful filth actually makes Marshall's point about racial injustice and racist attitudes.

I'll continue to recognize and support organizations that are stepping up as leaders and making a real difference in our community, and I will do my part to be there for those in need'. They said, "You got something coming to you so I guess you're going to be in a wheelchair" ... just so many racist, derogatory terms that was in it. "It was a bunch of insane things that were in it". That kind of stood out to me that someone would have that much hate or malice towards me or put that much energy to write something like that and send it to me. "Something to make you an invalid in a wheel chair". "I received this letter at work", Marshall captioned the photo.

Marshall announced his decision in an Instagram post, saying he was encouraged by talks with the Denver Police Department about the agency's use of force and the "hope" for social change. "I wanted to expose that people still hate each other ... whether it's because of your belief system or the color of your skin or just because I'm not like you, you're not like me".
