Sanders focused on Super Tuesday after SC loss

Former US Secretary of State and Democratic presidential candidate, Hillary Clinton has won a resounding victory in the US state of SC.
Sanders spent the day in Texas while SC voters chose Clinton almost four-to-one in the state's primary before delivering a speech in Rochester, Minn., looking toward Super Tuesday. "We are not taking anything and we are not taking anyone for granted", she said.
Sanders will need to show he can win states with more diversity than New Hampshire and Iowa, where he ran a close second Clinton, said state Rep. Gilda Cobb-Hunter, an Democrat who is an unpledged superdelegate to the party's convention. According to exit polls, black voters made up 61% of the Democratic electorate, and Clinton won by 86-14 with them; she also won white voters 54-46. "In America, when we stand together, there is no barrier too big to break". "We are not taking anything and we're not taking anyone for granted".
And though they concede that Sanders will score big in Vermont - his home state - they think they can win in Oklahoma and Minnesota.
CHARLESTON, S.C.-The only question with SC and Hillary Clinton was the final margin. "He needed to make a serious investment in SC simply because Iowa and New Hampshire are outliers to the Democratic coalition", he said, referring to the largely white demographics in the first two voting contests.
The win marks a moment of redemption for Clinton, who in 2008 lost badly in the state to Barack Obama, whose victory here served as a turning point for his own campaign.
The rout of Sanders solidified Clinton's status as the strong front-runner to capture the party's nomination for the November 8 election in her quest to become America's first woman president.

The ISS trio leave behind Kopra, Russian cosmonaut Yuri Malenchenko and the European Space Agency's British astronaut Tim Peake. At the end of this mission, Scott Kelly has spent a total of 520 days in space, which is the most among USA astronauts.
Advisers to Clinton increasingly believe Trump is more likely than not to be the Republican nominee, which injects a considerable dose of uncertainty into any fall contest.
It was a microcosm of the entire SC campaign.
Sanders, however, continues to point out his differences with Clinton, pointing to his unwillingness to have a super PAC, his opposition to the Iraq War and his rejection of trade agreements he says have led to job losses.
As ThinkProgress' Kira Lerner reported earlier this week, the mothers of Trayvon Martin, Sandra Bland, Eric Garner, Dontre Hamilton, and Jordan Davis have all joined Clinton on the campaign trail in the Palmetto state to help Clinton make the case that she's the best choice for African Americans.
The Sanders campaign knew it was going to lose SC.
First, this is what Democratic voter turnout looks like - these are its outcomes when black voters are convinced of their ability and authority to fundamentally shape American democracy.
Sanders was outmatched in SC, where being a self-proclaimed democratic socialist failed to win over voters in the centrist state.

According to Batson, oil inside the transformer started the fire. No injuries were reported, and no evacuations were required. The Oconee Alert was terminated at 8:16 p.m.
You see, there are reasons why this remains most appealing to young, white, liberal voters. Unfortunately for Sanders, he had neither, and his able campaign crashed against Clinton's powerful effort and deep support among voters and state Democratic leaders.
"I want everyone to know that we're not looking at what Bill did", she said.
The decisive victor expressed confidence that this showing will be indicative of a trend among Democratic voters in the rest of the South, where she plans on eliminating Sanders as a viable opponent. On this day, 13 states and one territory will be participating: Alabama, Arkansas, Colorado, Georgia, Massachusetts, Minnesota, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas, Vermont, Virginia, Wyoming and American Samoa.
Clinton's remarks Sunday were also very targeted toward enriching historically black colleges and universities and addressing racism.
If true, that is about as instructive as anything I've ever heard Clinton say.
Clinton has recently attempted to distance herself from her advocacy of her husband's tough on crime policies after increased scrutiny and criticism. He said he had raised $10,000 for the Clinton campaign in the past week alone.
