Chasing the Bulls' record: Warriors tie one Chicago historic mark

Breaking out a fresh colorway of his Under Armour Curry Two, Stephen Curry didn't need a miracle three-pointer this time around as the the Warriors used a big fourth quarter run to dispatch the Thunder 121-106 in route to their 44th straight home win, which equaled the mark originally set by 1995-96 Chicago Bulls.

The Warriors' second win over the Thunder in six days was their 44th in a row at Oracle Arena, allowing them to match the perfection achieved by the Bulls from March 30, 1995, to April 4, 1996.

While he was not at his best, Warriors star Steph Curry top-scored with 33 points, as Klay Thompson notched 21 points.

One Chicago Bulls’ NBA record matched by the Warriors, one is still on the table.

His successful free throw completed the three-point play, pushing the Golden State lead to 106-97 and setting the stage for a runaway finish.

Curry finished with a game-high 33 points on his return to action after missing Tuesday's win over the Atlanta Hawks with a sore ankle. Nearly half of his points came on five 3-pointers, although it took him 15 attempts to get them.

'Optimistic' Herrera wants United to finish in top four
He could be a diamond in the rough though and has done pretty well in the Greek League and in the Champions League as well this season.

Kevin Durant led all Thunder scorers with 32 points on 11-17 from the field, while going 10 of 11 from the charity stripe. On a night when partner-in-crime Russell Westbrook wasn't at his best-though he still had 22 points-Durant stepped up to the plate, dropping 32 and going one assist shy of a triple-double. Durant committed nine turnovers, his second most in a game this season.

Oklahoma City, who was beaten by the Los Angeles Clippers on Wednesday night, also went down in overtime to the Warriors last Saturday.

Oklahoma City cut the margin to as few as two with 6:01 on the clock, but Golden State appeared in firm control once it took the lead early in the fourth quarter. Backup center Marreese Speights had a 3-pointer in the run.

In this one, Warriors' role players Shaun Livingston and Speights stepped in and helped carry this team and in the end the Thunder didn't have enough.

Just like in previous losses, the Thunder played great basketball throughout three quarters, but completely fell apart when it really mattered most.

New Orleans led 84-78 with 4:29 remaining when Dante Cunningham hit a wide open 3-pointer from the right baseline.

Ben Simmons ruled ineligible for Wooden Award
Although, in reality, in a few months when Simmons is a No. 1 overall pick, this will be nothing more than a distant memory. Simmons went into the regular-season finale Saturday averaging 19.7 points, 11.9 rebounds and 5.1 assists per game.

Though the Warriors would love to add the single-season win record to an already long list of accomplishments this year, the players will certainly trust Kerr's judgment.

Leonard was 12-of-22 shooting, including 6 for 10 from 3-point range. Curry has been on an absolute tear this season, averaging a career-high 30.7 points per game and looking every bit as the hands-down victor to repeat as MVP.

The Warriors are also now 26-0 at home and on Thursday survived a game they could've lost-with Curry and Andre Iguodala both coming back from minor injuries and against a Thunder team that has a lot of offensive weaponry and pushed the Warriors to the brink just weekend. "And I mean that."...

"The thing we talk about is becoming more and more consistent", Thunder’s coach Billy Donovan said.
