Johnson & Johnson ordered to pay $72m for cancer deaths

Following a three-week trial, jurors in the USA state of Missouri have awarded the Fox family $15 million of actual damages and $93 million of punitive damages.

According to the suit, Fox developed terminal ovarian cancer after 35 years of using the company's talc-based products for feminine hygiene.

The company is likely to face hundreds of lawsuits alleging that it has failed to warn its customers of the risk of using the talc-based powder. Fox's court victory was the first time a US jury had awarded damages in such claims. "While we sympathize with the family of the plaintiff, we strongly disagree with the outcome".

Mitt Romney goes all improvident on Donald Trump
It took 11 Republican debates for Donald Trump to go there. "His domestic policies would lead to recession", Romney said. He also, rightly, argued that Trump lacks the necessary temperament to be president.

Salter said he could not comprehend that Johnson & Johnson allegedly hid products' link to cancer, noted the Post-Dispatch. Hence, she died October 2015 at the age of 62.

The company in 2011 vowed to remove "chemicals of concern" from its baby products, the AP news agency reported.

A St. Louis jury Monday ordered Johnson & Johnson, which made the talcum powder, to pay the woman's family $72 million.

Trump defends 'manhood' during GOP debate as insults fly
Trump skipped the last Fox News debate - a few days before the Iowa caucus - because of a running feud with Megyn Kelly. Trump responds to Rubio's suggestion he wouldn't answer a policy question: "Don't worry about it little Marco, I will".

"The sad part is, she had to learn about it from lawyer ads, while Johnson & Johnson tried to hide the truth from her", Onder said.

The talc used in all of the company's global products, Goodrich added, is carefully selected and meets the highest quality, purity and compliance standards. Some say that talc particles can reach the ovaries and cause inflammation, but others have noted that there hasn't been a large cohort study to prove a definitive cause and effect.

But, studies linking talcum powder to ovarian cancer go back at least as far as 1971. The American Cancer Society noted that personal use of talc has mixed results on health, though there is "some suggestion of a possible increase in ovarian cancer risk".

Sparks fly at GOP debate as Trump hits Romney, Rubio
How about Trump University? "He's trying to do to the American voter what he did for the people that signed up for this course. Cruz, as he has done for weeks, also attacked Trump for having supported and donated money to Democrats in the past.
