Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas, Vermont and Virginia will hold all be holding their nominating contests tonight for both Democrats and Republicans.

"There is no doubt that if Donald steam rolls through Super Tuesday, wins everywhere with big margins, that he may well be unstoppable", Cruz said Sunday on CBS.

Sanders, meanwhile, holds a steady lead over all top three Republican candidates in the poll - 57 percent to 40 percent against Cruz, 55 percent to 43 percent against Trump, and 53 percent to 45 percent against Rubio. More than half the delegates needed to secure the Democratic nomination will be chosen in March with contests in 28 states, and more than a third of those have early voting.

865 delegates are at stake Tuesday, many of them in southern states where Clinton is expected to have a decided edge.

While Clinton has much of the Democratic establishment behind her, Sanders is banking on strong support from the state's college-age voters to help keep his candidacy afloat.
