Texas voters head to polls for Super Tuesday primary choices

Exit polls from last week's Republican primary in SC — the first Southern state to vote in the 2016 contest — showed that Trump can draw votes from the evangelical Christians and social conservatives who are the cornerstone of the GOP electorate in the region. Sanders has 85 delegates and few immediate opportunities outside of Vermont to gain ground on Clinton.

The polls are open from 7 a.m.to 7 p.m. on Tuesday in Texas.

Eight years ago, Democrats were such a dominant force in Arkansas that Republicans didn't bother putting up a challenger for a U.S. Senate seat.

How completely will Trump dominate?

With the stakes nearing a make-or-break point, Trump, Cruz and Rubio have viciously attacked each other with taunts, accusations and angry tweets that have given the Republican race a distinctly Darwinian flavor. Polls show her with more than a 20-point lead. On the eve of voting, Cruz and Rubio called on Trump to ask the New York Times to release an audiotape of a January 5 interview he gave to the newspaper's editorial board, which they believe will show Trump does not back his own immigration policy. Marco Rubio and Ted Cruz. Rubio has hammered Trump as a "con artist", pointing to his hiring of undocumented immigrants on construction projects and his namesake university.

"We can not be a party that nominates someone that refuses to condemn white supremacists and the Ku Klux Klan", Senator Marco Rubio told a crowd of supporters in Virginia.

Clinton, powered by strong support among black voters, was in firm control in several Southern states holding contests on Tuesday, including Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Tennessee and Texas.

Kelly, 52, a former space shuttle commander, will undergo a battery of medical and physical tests at the landing site. Thus far, space missions have flown for relatively short periods, most lasting less than six months.

It'll also leave him with a massive delegate lead and a weakened crop of competitors.

Three of the top presidential candidates will await the Super Tuesday results in Florida.

After days of relentlessly building expectations, the pressure is now on the Texas senator to perform. If Rubio is pulling big margins here, it could be a surprising finish.

Sanders decamped to his home in Burlington, Vermont, where he planned to watch the returns with his home state's faithful. Cruz will be the first to face that test, as Florida and OH vote later. It's been a month since Cruz's win in Iowa, but that's a lifetime in politics. This is a state where Cruz should be doing well.

He's also looking over his shoulder at Rubio. Cruz has been neck-and-neck with Rubio for second, too, and this really could be a three-man contest. But Sen. Susan Collins had backed Jeb Bush.

Maine Gov. Paul LePage said in a radio interview that Trump "wants to make America great again" and that the candidate "is the only one doing that right now".

But the map, at least on Tuesday, did not appear to be helping Sanders.

His 4.63 40 was the second-best among all defensive linemen, and it's even more impressive when you consider he's 273 pounds. There will be without doubt some players who a club had a high talent grade on who ended up with a poor medical exam.

It's a lot to follow, so here are some of the most important states to watch.

The Associated Press asked Republican senators and governors across the country if they would support Trump if he secured the nomination.

Rubio won't be leaving the race anytime soon, no matter what happens Tuesday.

Can Clinton put it on ice? If Sanders is able to connect more with minority populations, however, he may have a clearer path to victory at the Democratic National Convention. But only Vermont is a guaranteed win for him.

The Razorback State is one place where Cruz could have a stronger-than-expected night.

Barring disaster, Clinton's delegate lead is certain to grow Tuesday. Just under half of those who responded would not commit to backing him, foreshadowing a potentially extraordinary break this fall.

She's already looking forward to the general election, taking on Trump in speeches while de-emphasizing attacks against Sanders. He reported raising more than $36 million in February and hoped to break the $40 million mark before the end of the day, a sign that he will have the money to go deep into the spring. The problem is he needs to find new voters. If Sanders defies the odds, the two may in fact come head to head this November, which would be perhaps the most ideologically extreme election in recent history. In New Hampshire's primary, Hillary Clinton suffered an unprecedented loss. But Sanders faces tough questions about whether he can rally minorities that are core Democratic voters. But to keep the delegate count close, he'll have to succeed Tuesday where he failed just Saturday. Texas has the most delegates - 155.
