Carolina Hurricanes Trade Eric Staal to New York Rangers

Pulling the trigger on a move rumored all week leading into Monday's trade deadline, the Rangers Sunday acquired Hurricanes captain Eric Staal for second-round picks this year and in 2017 and prospect Aleksi Saarela, a Finnish center selected in the third round of the 2015 draft.

The trade craziness has begun New York Rangers fans. It should also be noted that the Hurricanes will be retaining half of Eric's $9.25 million salary. I believe they've got the will to achieve that goal.
