One of the biggest areas of need for the Eagles headed into this off-season just got filled, as they’ve reportedly acquired Texans linebacker DeMeco Ryans for an undisclosed mid-round draft pick.

John McClain of the Houston Chronicle first reported the trade. The deal between the two clubs is contingent upon Ryans passing a physical tomorrow.

Ryans, 27, has racked up 637 tackles, 8.5 sacks, six forced fumbles, and two interceptions in six seasons with Houston.

The addition of Ryans should help to solidify an Eagles defense that finished in the middle of the pack against the run, giving up an average of 112.6 yards per game on the ground.
