After leaving the game in the first half courtesy of a sandwich shot to the chest from two Redskins defenders, questions abounded in Philadelphia surrounding quarterback Michael Vick and his ability to continue on as the starter in the coming weeks.
But according to Jason LaCanfora of the NFL Network, concern from his teammates was minimal at best in the locker room after the game, with multiple Eagles players indicating Vick was simply sore from the hit and not seriously injured.
That sentiment wasn’t exactly unanimous, as several other sources in the Philadelphia area claiming Vick looked to be in significant pain, walking around the locker room gingerly and struggling to dress himself. Given the location where the major brunt of the blow was delivered, Vick likely is suffering from at least a few cracked ribs, which are extremely painful, but not usually enough to prevent players from taking the field.
Time will tell however, and the Eagles will undoubtedly give Vick a full medical rundown before he’s cleared to return to practice this week.
