On track to have a career season, Miami wide receiver Davone Bess has reaped his reward early, agreeing in principle to a deal with the Dolphins earlier this morning, according to Fox Sports’ Jay Glazer.

The exact financial terms are not available as of right now, but the extension is expected to make Bess the highest paid slot receiver in the league. If he continues on the same pace through the remainder of the season, Bess is projected to finish the year with 86 receptions for 893 yards and 6 touchdowns.

Bess is in his third year with the Dolphins, after a tremendously productive collegiate career at Hawaii.
