When a multitude of players at the same position receive significant salary increases with contract extensions, it often spurs other players of the same caliber to push for their own payday.
For the time being, that doesn’t seem to be the case with Indianapolis wide receiver Reggie Wayne, who reiterated his desire to have his current contract re-negotiated earlier this morning, but also indicated his contentment in allowing the process to play out according to the Colts timetable.
Wayne sent his congratulations to fellow receivers Andre Johnson and Miles Austin, who signed major extensions recently with the Texans and the Cowboys respectively, while simultaneously pushing for a new deal for himself in the process.
Indianapolis has refrained thus far from publicly stating their opinion on the subject, preferring to keep all contract discussions underwraps until they become final.
