It’s been a productive morning for Tampa Bay, finally coming to terms with rookie defensive tackle Gerald McCoy and nailing down a long term contract with offensive tackle Donald Penn.

According to Charlie Campbell at PewterReport, com, the deal with Penn is for six years and is worth an estimated $43 million. Penn has been the starter at left tackle for Tampa Bay since 2007, locking down his spot for 44 straight games.

The move gives the Buccaneers an anchor up front to handle opposing pass rushers, keeping their young stable of quarterbacks healthy and on the field, which is imperative given how poor they’ve played as of late.
