Leroy Hill finds trouble again, arrested in domestic violence dispute

Just eleven days removed from sentencing in a narcotics possession case, Seattle linebacker Leroy Hill is back in the news, and once again it’s not for anything positive.

According to the Associated Press, Hill was arrested late last night after officers in Issaquah, Washington (a suburb of Seattle) responded to a domestic violence complaint at Hill’s home. Upon arrival, the officers noticed several injuries/marks on a female at the residence, who was identified as Hill’s girlfriend, and took Hill into custody after she told police he was the one who caused the injuries.

Combined with Hill’s previous run-ins with the law, it’s likely that he will be facing punishment from the league, especially in light of commissioner Roger Goodell’s tough stance against negative behavior by players and coaches off the field. A four game suspension to begin the season is the most likely course of action, but depending on how Goodell chooses to handle things, a longer sentence could be in the offing as well.

For their part, the Seahawks have chosen not to comment publicly on the matter as of now, preferring instead to let things play out in the legal system first and then take action if necessary against Hill, who is a key member of their defense.

Hill notched 46 tackles and one sack last season for Seattle, and has started 61 of his 67 career games for the Seahawks since being selected by the team in the third round of the 2005 NFL Draft.
