With Seneca Wallace already flying out of town, the Seahawks would seem to be a team that is primed to make a run at a franchise quarterback to eventually replace Matt Hasselbeck for the long haul.

With that in mind, Dan Graziano at NFL Fan House posted an interesting article speculating that Seattle may be a possible landing spot for Eagles quarterback Kevin Kolb.

Here is what Graziano had to say:

With Matt Hasselbeck still viable but getting old, the Seahawks could be interested in somebody like Kolb, a young player who’s already had some development and some NFL experience and could be ready to step in as a full-time starter soon, if not immediately. If Kolb were in this year’s draft and available at the No. 6 pick, the Seahawks might well jump at him. Does that mean it makes sense to deal the No. 6 pick for him?

– NFL Fan House beat writer, Dan Graziano

The angle taken seems plausible; a young quarterback with more experience then an unknown the Seahawks might draft, coming in to take charge when Hasselbeck hangs it up for good.

That said, this deal is still extremely unlikely to happen, and nothing has been reported as being official. If the Seahawks are serious about signing restricted free agent wide receiver Brandon Marshall to an offer sheet, he will undoubtedly cost one of their first three picks. And with a viable option already in place for the short term at quarterback in Hasselbeck it would make little sense for them to deal two of their first three picks with so many other pressing needs amidst a rebuilding phase.
