As a Seattle Seahawks fan, I try to be as objective and unbiased as possible, but this one simply has me giddy inside so please forgive me.
Multiple sources, most notably ESPN’s Sal Paolantonio, have stated the Seattle Seahawks have been in consistent contact with the Philadelphia Eagles in regards to quarterbacks Donovan McNabb and Kevin Kolb.
I reported yesterday here that the Seahawks have been linked to Kolb and at that time nothing was official, but since then, Mr. Sal Pal has certainly added some credibility and McNabb to boot.
Either quarterback would be an upgrade for the Seahawks, (Kolb for being a long term answer), and certainly almost every Seattle fan would trade Matt Hasselbeck for McNabb in a heartbeat.
The thought of McNabb in Seahawks blue at least has this 12th Man excited to say the least!
The sudden interest in both McNabb and Kolb could potentially affect the Seahawks attraction to Broncos wide receiver Brandon Marshall, and if one of the Eagles quarterbacks was acquired, a deal between Denver and Seattle involving Hasselbeck could take place. Something along the lines of a package revolving around Seattle’s fourth round pick and Hasselbeck in exchange for Marshall would be likely. They could then deal their second round pick to the Philadelphia Eagles in exchange for McNabb.
Stay tuned as I will update this post as more information is released.
