In an unexpected move that was recently announced, the Seahawks have traded DE Daryl Tapp to the Eagles for a 4th-round draft choice and Chris Clemons, who plays the same position as Tapp. Philadelphia had been in search of a top-notch pass rusher earlier in the free agency period, as they offered Julius Peppers a contract and were rumored to be considering the likes of Kyle Vanden Bosch and Aaron Kampman, but clearly they felt Tapp has the potential to be an everyday starter for them.
In 2009, Tapp had somewhat of a down season, recording only 2.5 sacks, but in his 4-year career with Seattle, he’s notched 18. Clemons, who the Eagles dealt to the Seahawks in return, compiled a trio of sacks in 16 games as a reserve last year.
