Raiders to release Fargas, Warren

One day removed from several interesting choices in free agent tenders, Oakland is set to jettison running back Justin Fargas and defensive tackle Gerard Warren from their contracts with the club, in an effort to avoid paying each player the roster bonus they’re due in the coming weeks.

Neither player has presented the Raiders with a consistent season recently, with injuries and other assorted issues causing a decline in production and playing time. Both will likely latch on someplace else, at a reduced cost of course, and will provide quality depth for a team in need of it at those positions.

sad. justin fargas has been the heart and soul of the team. there's not much of that in oakland to begin with

Very possible they will both ‘latch on’ right back with the Raider’s. That happens fairly often.

I have been a fan for 40 years and it just sickens me the way the last few years have been. Al Davis is losing his edge and this is what hurts the most. I look forward to the well thought out decisions in the past, but today it is truly a depressing sight to see the choices being made. In today times we see more Raiser haters and this includes some players such as Moss, crabtrees and so forth. If your getting payed to play dont sit on the bench a be a winer like moss, he dropped balls like it was going out of style. He will always be a loser to me. Raiders is lacking true dedication from managment. If I were in charge heads would be rolling, no room for slackers or losers. Everything is about money, but what about traditions and the love of your team. I will aways back Al, but its the other sorry saps not backing him. Where is the meaness and fight the raiders use to have. D Russell, who and what the hell do you think your doing? This is not a senior citezen league get busy.

Justin Fargus stepped up to the plate, but it does not do any good if the rest of the team is playing like class1 football (High School).

Listen, bottom line Al Davis needs to stop and step back and let Someone else run this team. At one time he was one of the great minds in football, being able to build great teams by drafting and trading for key players that needed a home.he was motivator, a rebel im sad to say time has passed him by.
