Top Free Agent Tight Ends
1. Owen Daniels – Houston (UFA)
Throughout most of this season, there was little chance that the Texans would let Daniels walk away from the team next spring, but after he tore his ACL against the Bills in week eight, it’s beginning to look more and more likely that Houston will only offer him a one year deal. Even with his injury concerns, Daniels is worth more than that, especially on the open market, so expect him to test things out and sign a solid deal elsewhere.
Likely destinations: Houston, Kansas City, New York Giants, Denver, Miami, New England
2. Tony Scheffler – Denver (UFA)
Unfortunately for Scheffler, the Broncos haven’t used him all that much as of late, which could end up depressing his value a bit on the market next February. But that said, any team that ends up signing him will reap the reward pretty quick, as Scheffler is young and talented to say the least. After playing fourth fiddle behind all the other skill players in Denver, look for him to sign someplace that can give him the looks on offense that he deserves.
Likely destinations: Denver, Miami, New England, New York Giants, Kansas City, Cincinnati
3. Bo Scaife – Tennessee (UFA)
Scaife is a player that will fly under the radar once the free agency period starts, but he could become a solid pickup for a team that’s willing to take a chance on him. Scaife has played well at times for Tennessee, but with Alge Crumpler on the field, his opportunities have limited to say the least. His potential is still fairly good though and that will be enough for him to find a reasonable deal from a team that will give him a shot at making plays next year,
Likely destinations: New England, Cincinnati, Denver, Houston, Kansas City
