Snyder leaning towards Gruden as next Redskins coach

Citing sources close to the organization, Rick Snider of the Washington Examiner is reporting that the Redskins have begun internal discussions on head coach Jim Zorn’s future with the team, and are leaning towards replacing him with ESPN Monday Night Football commentator Jon Gruden.
Owner Dan Snyder seems to be hell bent on getting a big time coach in place next off-season, and while he’d likely prefer to hire Mike Shanahan over Gruden, Shanahan’s desire to manage the front office of any team he signs with would stand at odds with the way Snyder runs his team. Gruden formerly coached in Oakland and Tampa Bay, and is widely considered one of the top offensive minds in football today.
Zorn has failed to live up to expectations during his tenure with the club, and given the team’s rising loss count this season, his stay in Washington is likely to be cut short at some point in the near future.

How about – “Snyder has failed to live up to expectations…”
Zorn is just a symptom. Snyder & Cerrato are the cause of all the Skins’ woes. What operational or personnel policies can Snyder/Cerrato point to in a decade of running this team to say, “See, our way is working!”? What results? Profitable? Yes. And perennially sub-average to mediocre.
I hope every “big name” coaching prospect turns down the Skins’ job unless Snyder gives up control and Cerrato is fired.
The best fix is to hit Dan where it really hurts – in the wallet. Fans, don’t renew your tickets!
