1:05 am – Johnson’s agent is basically claiming that his client only intended to promote his father with the posts, and never meant it to be a slam on Haley (H/T to the Backporch at NFL Fanhouse).

Johnson added a post to his account that makes those sentiments questionable at best though. Here’s his latest ‘Tweet’…

Make me regret it. Lmao. U don’t stop my checks. Lmao. So “tweet” away.”

Johnson has also had a running war of words with several followers throughout most of the evening…

@jaredlaunius. Sorry ur a cornball n ur mom birthed u broke. But I’m cakn patna. While u work or school for 5 dollas n hour. Ha!”

“@jaredlaunius think bout a clever diss then that wit ur fag pic. Christopher street boy. Is what us east coast cats call u.”

@DrewK30 sorry to tell u ur the reason y ur broke n dissn on twitter lmao.”

@DrewK30 got nuthn to do wit hiring my father. But u wouldn’t know cuz u don’t play either so keep on the sideline lil gril n cheer.”

“@KD2407 then don’t reply then. Still richer then u. Keep goin. Come play our game ooops forgot u can’t.”

Obviously, Johnson has an axe to grind after today’s loss, but he’s going to have to be real lucky to escape punishment from the Chiefs on this. In fact, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see him looking for work soon. Players have certainly been dumped for lesser reasons, and the new regime in KC has not been tolerant of this kind of behavior thus far. Trashing his coach, the fans, and anyone else he can find certainly won’t win him any favors around the league either.

10:00 pm – It’s not the cover of Sports Illustrated or the front page of ESPN, but Chiefs RB Larry Johnson tossed head coach Todd Haley under the proverbial bus via his Twitter account earlier this evening, following KC’s disastrous showing at home against the Chargers.

Here’s a few of his rants:

My father got more creditentials than most of these pro coaches…..google my father!!!!!!!”

My father played for the coach from “rememeber the titans”. Our coach played golf. My father played for redskins briefley. Our coach. Nuthn”

My father 3 or 4 state champs in Maryland. 3 or 4 1st rd picks Penn State. . Not including son!!!”

The Kansas City Star has confirmed that the account indeed belongs to Johnson, who has rushed for 309 yards on 116 carries (2.7 yards per carry) and zero touchdowns this season.

Throughout much of the off-season, Johnson stayed quiet on the Chiefs addition of Haley as head coach, and when he did speak, it was full of praise. But after a season filled to the brim with ineptitude for the Chiefs offense, Johnson may finally be showing the cracks that many expected him to display after Herm Edwards was unceremoniously fired from the head coach position following a 2-14 record last year.

Johnson has never been one to shy away from the controversial, racking up several off-the-field incidents involving abuse of women at night clubs, and garnering more than his share of angry remarks from his coaches in the process.

It remains to be seen what course the Chiefs will decide upon regarding Johnson and his latest run of the mouth, but it’s doubtful that it will turn out happily ever after for Johnson, given the team’s lack of patience for players who aren’t willing to stay silent and play hard.
