Matt Maiocco of the Santa Rosa Press-Democrat is reporting that he believes there is a $8-10 million divide between rookie WR Michael Crabtree and the 49ers front office with regard to the current contract negotiations.
While the team will never confirm that’s the case, that kind of salary difference could cause Crabtree to miss the vast majority of training camp along with San Francisco’s pre-season games.
Crabtree has gone on record with his opinion that he should be paid as if he were selected in the top five of last April’s draft, however the team is rightfully sticking by it’s approach that he should accept the salary as slotted at the #10 overall pick.
