Darnell Dockett was a dominant player for the NFC Champs last season. Now he wants to get paid like one.
Citing a source close to the situation, John Clayton and Mike Sando (ESPN.com) are reporting that Dockett has voiced his frustration with his current contract status to upper management in Arizona, and after basically being told to wait his turn, he asked for a trade.
The Cardinals have thus far dismissed that request out of hand, but apparently have not ruled out a potential extension sometime in the near future. It’s likely that any such discussion though, will come after Arizona is able to resolve their current issues with WR Anquan Boldin, LB Karlos Dansby, and S Adrian Wilson, who all expect to receive major contract offers given their status as premier players.
