Former Vikings great and Pro Football Hall of Fame member Carl Eller found out first hand today that fame and fortune do not give people carte blanche when dealing with police officers, as he was sentenced today to 60 days in a workhouse, followed by 60 days of electronic home monitoring, along with a $3,000 fine.

Found guilty of two misdemeanor crimes as a result of his tussle with Minneapolis Police officers last April outside of his home, Eller had expected a much lighter sentence, but Judge Dan Mabley chose to take a much more stern tack in dealing with Eller in this case.

Eller was immediately taken into custody and will begin serving his sentence today, while his lawyers file their appeal.
