According to Adam Teicher (KC Star), the Chiefs and their recently hired head coach Todd Haley have not finalized the roles his staff will play this season.
Haley was emphatic in saying that he wants to gather all the relevant information about the team’s current crop of players before he decides which style of offense and defense he wants to play, which will in turn determine the jobs he assigns to his assistant coaches.
Haley is also toying with the idea of calling all the offensive plays himself, although his retention of offensive coordinator Chan Gailey would seem to eliminate that from contention, given Gailey’s extensive experience and ability to tailor his gameplan to the strengths of his players.
