Suspicious iPhone 9, Xs Max Preorders Have Appeared Online

Last year, Apple took the wraps off the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus at a Sept. 12 event, with pre-orders for those new phones starting that Friday, Sept. 15. Apple probably won't go as far as to use a plastic back, so expect more glass.

Now there are two new leaks. The rumored gold finish for the OLED models and the brightly color cases for the 6.1-inch LCD iPhone aren't present on the site.

A larger version of last year's iPhone X with a almost 6.5-inch screen.

The iPhone XS is set to be the "headline" product, the smaller (and easier to hold) 5.8-inch handset that still chucks in all the top-end technology. Bloomberg's Mark Gurman has also reported that Apple might launch two new iPad Pro models, without the home button. Over the weekend, some would come to refer to it as the iPhone 9.

Still, I think it's unlikely that Apple wants to reinvent the wheel with the iPhone Xc, so I'd be surprised if the final model was substantially different to the photos above. We may also learn about a new generation of Apple Watches, iPad Pros, and possibly get a first look at the successor to the Macbook Air. Take a look below for a handful of insights on the upcoming LCD iPhone.

An upgraded version of the iPhone X with a 5.8-inch screen, but adding a faster processor and upgraded cameras. To signify the even larger screen, Apple is likely to give the phone a new name: "iPhone Xs Max", according to people familiar with Apple's internal deliberations.

And while there are bump-ups indeed, reports say that Apple was able to keep the price at the same levels by going with cheaper components.

"There is nothing in their product line-up that isn't working for them in the premium segment of the market, so there is no imperative for them to break that mold", NPD analyst Stephen Baker said of Apple likely sticking with modest improvements in new iPhones this year.

It has happened nearly every time Apple has introduced a new design: iPhone 4, iPhone 5, iPhone 6/6 Plus, and iPhone X.

Previous events like this have been all over the place in terms of timing and agenda, but for reference the iPhone 2017 launch, also on September 12, lasted close to two hours (and the iPhone X was unveiled in the second hour).so settle down.

Over the past couple of months, we've been hearing some rumors about new iPad Pro models that would, allegedly, be announced alongside the this year's iPhone lineup later this month.
