Here’s Your First Look At The Skrulls In Captain Marvel

While there've been some adjustment to their appearance as compared to the comics, Marvel fans should easily recognize these as the Skrulls that've plagued the lives of Earth's Mightiest Heroes for decades on the page.

The EW cover features Larson in full Captain Marvel costume - her starred symbol will be familiar to fans of the MCU, it was flashed up in the Avengers: Infinity War post-credits scene on Fury's pager device.

Larson's character in the Marvel film is an air force pilot named Carol Danvers, who gets special powers after an alien encounter. Chris Evans has had a hard time escaping Captain America when doing smaller indie side projects (even embracing the role on his personal Twitter) while actors like Chris Hemsworth only had parts of their acting abilities explored (like deadpan comedy, for instance) after they were introduced in the superhero universe.

We already knew that Jackson was going to be digitally de-aged for Captain Marvel to appear as a younger Nick Fury who doesn't yet have his famous eye patch - the film is set in the 1990s, when he's far from any high-ranking position in S.H.I.E.L.D. - and we now know how he will look (at the bottom).

The first official image of Brie Larson as Captain Marvel has been revealed.

Captain Marvel has finally landed. She's amusing, but doesn't always tell good jokes. Hopefully Carol Danvers can save everyone snapped by Thanos while she's at it. Then there's this human part of her that is flawed but is also the thing that she ends up leading by.

Captain Marvel is due to be released on March 8, 2019. And she can be headstrong and reckless and doesn't always make the ideal decisions for herself. The Kree race whom we saw in Guardians of the Galaxy can also be seen. "But at her core, she has so much heart and so much humanity - and all of its messiness".

Directed by Anna Boden & Ryan Fleck, Captain Marvel stars Brie Larson, Samuel L. Jackson, Ben Mendelsohn, Djimon Hounsou, Lee Pace, Lashana Lynch, Gemma Chan, Algenis Perez Soto, Rune Temte, McKenna Grace, Clark Gregg, and Jude Law.
