"Had Judge Moore and Mrs. Moore known that "Erran Morad" was Defendant Cohen, Judge Moore would have never agreed to be interviewed", Moore's lawyer wrote in the lawsuit.
The actions by Cohen and his network subjected the Moore and his wife to widespread ridicule. A spokeswoman for Showtime said it did not comment on pending litigation.
Representatives of Baron Cohen did not immediately respond to requests for comment about the lawsuit, and Showtime also did not comment.
