2 named storms now in the Atlantic; should we be anxious?

A weather system moving quickly toward the central U.S. Gulf Coast became a tropical storm Monday morning, bringing the threat of storm surges, strong winds and heavy rain to millions in the Southeast.
Gordon is expected to continue on its current track or maybe a little more northwestward while continuing to strengthen, possibly near hurricane strength as it makes landfall.
