Everton have signed Colombian defender Yerry Mina for a reported figure of about €30.25 million.

He has signed a five-year contract and joins Lucas Digne, the left back who also moved from the Nou Camp this summer.

Manchester United and Lyon had both tracked Colombia global Mina, who signed a five-year deal after Barca sanctioned his £27.2 million sale.

Several Premier League sides including West Ham and Chelsea had been in the hunt for the Brazilian winger while AC Milan also expressed an interest.

Barca have inserted a buy-back option for the Colombian global, who caught the eye after a series of impressive performances at the Russia World Cup.

Mina and Gomes both passed medicals in Barcelona on Thursday after Everton officials flew to the Catalan city to finalise the deals. I believe I will be able to show my best as a player here. "I am also determined to do my best for Everton".

Barcelona said they reserve the right to buy Mina back, while Gomes has cost Everton a £2m loan fee. Everton agreed a €2.25m (£2.02m) loan fee for the 25-year-old, who now has a minor injury but passed a medical held in Barcelona, and will pay his wages in full for the season.

Meanwhile, Gomes has been rendered surplus to requirements at Barcelona and has failed to become a regular in the Barca first team.

Everton had an eventful deadline day, making no fewer than four big-name signings, including Bernard, Gomes, Kurt Zouma and Mina.

The 25-year-old has been capped 29 times by Portugal and was part of the squad that won the European Championships in 2016.
