Demi Lovato agrees to enter rehab after near-fatal overdose

News that Demi Lovato, 25, agreed to go to rehab after she's released from the hospital has obviously thrilled family, friends, and fans alike.

The Cool for the Summer singer was hospitalized on July 24, after being found unconscious in her Hollywood Hills home, and it is thought she will be released from Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles later this week.

Demi Lovato is making the choice to get help.

A source previously told Entertainment Tonight that Demi was serious about getting back on track with her sobriety. She has agreed to rehab and will go straight to an in-patient facility... The singer's bodyguard, who rushed to the bedside of the stricken pop star, is now being credited with saving her life.

They said: 'Her and her team need to decide what is the best decision for Demi once she leaves the hospital.

Demi is now recovering in hospital in Los Angeles, and is apparently suffering from a very high fever and extreme nausea, but reports say that she is "expected to make a full recovery".

It's unclear what drug or drugs she was using that night, as Lovato was reportedly uncooperative with authorities after she was revived at the scene.

Lovato has struggled with an eating disorder, self-mutilation and other issues, and entered rehab in 2010. "This is not anything that can be forced", a source tells People. "I would throw up and it would just be blood and it was something that I realised if I don't stop this", she said, "I am going to die".
