British Open: What Tiger Woods said after his 71 in Round 2

The first round of The Open is finishing up at Carnoustie in Scotland.
On a British Open leader board with big names - Rory McIlroy, Zach Johnson, the considerably rising Tommy Fleetwood - the biggest name in the game had an uneven trip to even par and remained in the leader-board suburbs. And the way he handled the rain Friday in his round of 4-under 67, he might have a chance to see it on that precious silver trophy again.
"Just watching the board the guys weren't doing much this afternoon and I felt like, if I could shoot something in under par today, it would be good". But he bogeyed the next hole and also bogeyed No. 18 when he hit into a bunker.
Now, at the Open Championship, Woods has secured his weekend spot at Carnoustie after shooting a second consecutive even-par 71.
The three-time champion has missed links golf.
With that mindset, it's disappointing that Tiger couldn't capitalize, but making the cut line (which was projected around 2-over when he finished) definitely leads to an interesting weekend.

Fleetwood holds the course record at Carnoustie after shooting a 63 here a year ago, and Friday's effort is the best ever for the second round of a British Open on the notoriously tough Scottish links.
"I just kept level-headed when I needed to, and you know what, I didn't let the conditions get to me", he said. Knox had said Thursday, soon adding: "Yeah, obviously, I've won three times". So I enjoyed my time out there.
But he is now in the best mindset to control as much as golf allows him to.
Despite posting a T2 in 2011, the British Open has been DJ's weakest major throughout his career.
He points to Tom Watson and Greg Norman playing in the final group while in their 50s. In more hard conditions, his 65 felt just as good, especially the birdie on the 18th that put him atop the leaderboard until Johnson finished. "It was just one thing after another". After going out in 5-over 41 on Thursday, Koepka played the next 27 holes in 6 under par to get within striking distance.
"I could have cleaned up the round just a little bit", said Woods. This came after concerns about his neck - he was seen sporting two strips of black kinesiology tape before teeing off.
