Lahore Airport Will be Sealed on Nawaz, Maryam’s Arrival

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Maryam Nawaz on Sunday remarked that she was proud that Captain (r) Safdar surrendered like a lion. She said she will reach at Lahore airport on Friday at 6.15 Ittehad Airways' flight EY-243.

The court has declared that Nawaz Sharif and Maryam will be arrested upon their arrival in Pakistan.

"Since the road option may be hard for the authorities concerned with regard to provide security cover, a helicopter should be provided to the NAB to avoid problems in the arrest and shifting them (Nawaz and Maryam) to Adiala jail in Rawalpindi after producing them before the accountability court", the official said.

Maryam added that the Pakistani nation will avenge the injustices done to PML-N Quaid Nawaz Sharif by casting vote to "Sher" on July 25, while adding that there was no need to call people to rally and protest, they stand with Nawaz and will carry his campaign. "We will make sure that Sharif and Maryam do not leave the airport and are arrested there", he said. Islamabad-based accountability court's judge Muhammad Bashir, who gave 10 years of rigorous imprisonment to 68-year-old Sharif in the Avenfield apartment case last week, was hearing the Al Azizia steel mills corruption case against him. Maryam was given 7 years imprisonment for abetment after she was found "instrumental in concealment of the properties of her father" and one year for non-cooperation with NAB.

Nearly a year ago Nawaz Sharif was disqualified as the Prime Minister of Pakistan and now a year after he is being jailed along with his daughter and son in law.

Fearing lack of response from the general public upon their arrival in Pakistan, the Sharifs have made a decision to land in Lahore, as the PML-N is eyeing support of state machineries in AJK and Gilgit-Baltistan to ensure public attendance, according to a report in The Express Tribune.

Sharif along with Maryam had gone to London last month to see his ailing wife Begum Kulsoom Nawaz.
