Although doctors said none of the injuries was serious, it wasn't immediately clear which player would be available for Monday's round-of-16 match against Mexico in Samara.

Lasmar made the comment while dismissing rumors that the problem might have been related to excessive physical training by the team in Russian Federation.

Brazil collected seven points from their three group matches at this summer's competition.

Rodrigo Lasmar, the team doctor, admitted that left-back Marcelo remained doubtful for inclusion in the squad to face Mexico, while winger Douglas Costa is definitely out. He will be replaced by Atletico Madrid defender Filipe Luis, confirmed coach Tite. "We are optimistic he can be used in the game".

Marcelo, who suffered a back spasm just moments into Brazil's final group game against Serbia, is also recovering well but is not quite 100 per cent fit.

After the training, Tite and Silva, who will captain his team on Monday, addressed the pre-match press conference. Maybe the mattress in the hotel was softer than usual. "I'll be back in action soon".

Tite says he intends to copy positive aspects of the win over Serbia. Manchester City right-back Danilo was ruled out with a thigh problem before Brazil's second group stage game against Costa Rica and has yet to return.
