Arsenal Reportedly Interested in Signing £30M Andre Gomes from Barcelona

"I'm really proud, really pleased and excited for this season and what lies ahead", he told Arsenal Player.

Calum Chambers has signed a contract extension at Arsenal, with new head coach Unai Emery saying Englishman remains part of his plans at the Emirates.

The 30-year-old Greece worldwide became the club's third signing after Stephan Lichtsteiner and Bernd Leno.

Arsenal players who failed to qualify for the World Cup or were not selected to represent their national teams were present today, with new signing Sokratis Papastathopoulos alongside the likes of Alexandre Lacazette and Aaron Ramsey.

Although he played at right-back occasionally under Emery's predecessor Arsene Wenger he is normally a centre-back and will compete with the likes of veteran French global Laurent Koscielny and new Greek arrival Sokratis Papastathopoulos, who signed on Monday for a reported fee of £17.7million ($23.3million, Sh2.3 billion).

He only made 12 Premier League starts last season, though, with Wenger using him as a back-up to Laurent Koscielny and Shkodran Mustafi.

Due to Arsenal's busy summer transfer window, as things stand, there is not enough funds left in their transfer budget to secure a deal.

Emery has also sung the praises of Ainsley Maitland-Niles, while Mohamed Elneny is likely to be retained having also signed a new contract, but both are likely to provide back-up over the course of the new season.
