Man shot in Deerfield Beach is rapper XXXTENTACION, TMZ reports

The 20-year-old, whose birth name is Jahseh Onfroy, was reportedly shopping for motorcycles in Florida when a gunman ran to his vehicle and opened fire.

"He was a real talented musician, only 20 years old". XXXtentacion was brought to a Fort Lauderdale-area hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

XXXTentacion has been pronounced dead by the Broward Police Department after being shot in Florida on Monday.

The woman said then that, while living with XXXTentacion in Orlando, Florida, he allegedly threatened her life "like every day".

The footage shows witnesses attempting to check the rapper's pulse, but shows no obvious signs of bullet wounds or blood.

The rapper, Jahseh Dwayne Onfroy, recorded the live Snapchat video just hours before he died, and appeared to be predicting his own death. As he left a motorcycle dealership, several men shot in his direction.

"He has had two hit albums in the past year, "17" reaching No. 2 on the Billboard charts and "?"

Kanye West mourned XXXTentacion on Twitter, writing: "I never told you how much you inspired me when you were here thank you for existing".

He was arrested in December 2017 on charges that he beat up his pregnant girlfriend and later released on house arrest.

"This got me f-ked up".

The "Look at Me" rapper, who'd recently been freed from house arrest to tour in support of his Billboard-topping sophomore disc ? "God bless his family, friends and fans", wrote J. Cole.

Despite - or perhaps because of - his grim and sometimes suicidal lyrics, XXXTentacion catapulted to the top of USA charts just months ago.

Last month, Onfroy was one of a handful of artists affected by a "hateful conduct" policy that Spotify announced, and which was meant to result in artists not receiving editorial promotion from the company.

"I at least want to know that the kids perceived my message and were able to make something of themselves and able to take my message and use it and turn it into something positive and to at least have a good life", he said.
