OnePlus 6 crosses 1 million units globally, company launches 'Community Celebration Season'

The OnePlus 6 comes in three designs - two versions in black and the other in white - because research shows "most of the sales are of black and white", Lau said in his May interview with the Post. Here in the United Kingdom unlocked OnePlus phones are only available directly from the OnePlus store, while O2 has exclusive rights to sell the phone bundled with its own services.

If you purchase a OnePlus 6 at Amazon.in or Croma stores during the period, you can get zero cost EMI on all popular Indian banks for three months. Celebrating the success, OnePlus has announced a "Community Celebration Season" that will bring offers over 12 days, starting from June 15.

OnePlus points out that it crossed one million global sales milestone within 22 days of its launch. With each of its last two smartphones, it took around three months to tally one million units sold, the company told Business Insider.

In addition to the above offers, customers can also avail free upgrades of software flashing and diagnosis without any labour charges, even on "Out of Warranty" cases and a 10% additional discount on spare parts.

In light of juggernauts like Samsung and Apple, this isn't terribly impressive. On the other hand, the OnePlus 6 Marvel Avengers Limited Edition has been launched at a price tag of Rs. 44,999 in India. The device comes with 256GB internal storage and 8GB RAM. On the camera front, there is a dual rear camera setup including a 16-megapixel primary rear camera with f/1.7 aperture, EIS, OIS and a 20-megapixel secondary lens with f/1.7 aperture. While the device runs Android 8.1 Oreo with OxygenOS 5.1 on top, it is backed by a 3300mAh battery with Dash charging support. The company also partnered with carriers such as Elisa and O2 to widen its presence. Moreover, OnePlus has over 5 million active OnePlus community members, with the OnePlus community forums averaging 10 million views per month.

Pete Lau, Founder and CEO, OnePlus said, "As always, our community has surpassed our expectations and we have them to thank for the overwhelming success of the OnePlus 6".
