Wonder Woman sequel director reveals possible spoiler photo

"Here's Wonder Woman, and what can she do?"

This is all doubly surprising given that the Wonder Woman sequel's set in the mid-1980s.

Jenkins has pretty much reunited most of her behind-the-scenes team from Wonder Woman, including director of photography Matthew Jensen, production designer Aline Bonetto, and costume designer Lindy Hemming. In doing so, Gadot-who made her first appearance as the comic book character in 2016's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice-became the first woman to front a DC Extended Universe movie. Along with the surprising reveal that Steve Trevor, who sacrificed himself at the end of the first film, is alive, Jenkins and Gadot also confirmed the title of the highly anticipated film: Wonder Woman 1984. How do you think the era will affect the story of the Wonder Woman sequel?

Filming on the sequel is officially underway, two first-look photos have been released and an official title has been announced.

Images like these are, of course, meant to set internet chatter ablaze, and we can only speculate as to how Steve Trevor's made a return and how he's landed in the 1980s. I'm not quite sure if we're dealing with time travel or what here, and I'm a bit wary of undoing what was such an emotional plot development in the first Wonder Woman, but I do trust the storytelling instincts of Jenkins inherently so I'm still all in.

More on this as we get it.

The movie, which is filming now in Virginia and Washington, DC, is slated to be released on November 1, 2019.
