Cristiano Ronaldo: Mohamed Salah can win Ballon d'Or

Cristiano Ronaldo is hoping Liverpool FC star Mo Salah can make a full recovery to compete in the World Cup.

After their Euro 2016 victory, Portugal head into the World Cup with the aim of adding yet another worldwide trophy to their collection and for Ronaldo, this summer may see some of the heavy lifting taken off his shoulders.

'Many people talk about the Cristiano Ronaldo-Messi battle but there are other players who have chances to enter the race (for Ballon d'Or).

Having line-up against the 25-year-old in Real Madrid's 3-1 Champions League final victory, Ronaldo also hopes Salah recovers in time for the World Cup after suffering a shoulder injury. This year's month-long festival of football stares the 33-year old in the face, perhaps taunting him that this could be his last shot.

All of us have our view, but if you're in the game at the highest level, it's probably wise to keep that view secret when asked and use the diplomatic "they're both fucking fantastic" answer.

"A defeat on the first day puts you in a bad way for the rest of the tournament so it's important to start well", he said.

Regarding their opposing teams they will be playing against, the only team that I can see putting their collective team players skills to the test in Portugal, and it would appear Spain do have a lot to fear from the Portugal team, who could be the team to beat them.

"To win the World Cup would be a dream for Portugal but to do it we have to play the same way we did in Euro 2016, as a team and all together".
