Shadow of the Tomb Raider E3 2018 Square Enix showcase video

Shadow of the Tomb Raider opened the show with some gameplay footage in this latest Lara Croft adventure going through some stealthy kills.

So far, we've seen a new trailer for "Kingdom Hearts III," the first in the series to be available on Xbox at Microsoft's E3 briefing.

We'll be seeing a lot of the games in the flesh over the next couple of days, so we'll be able to talk about them in more detail then. Packed lightly and only 45 minutes long, in terms of surprises, it was reserved to two games: Babylon's Fall, a new PlatinumGames joint, and The Quiet Man, a brand-new game from Human Head Studios, who you may recognize as the team behind the infamously cancelled Prey 2 (as well as from 2006's Prey). From the debut trailer, it seems like cutscenes will be in live-action, but the gameplay will look like a standard game.

More information was promised in August, which perhaps means Gamescom. The finished game will launch for PC and PS4 in 2019.

Other Square Enix titles that should have some stage time include Just Cause 4, Octopath Traveler, the Final Fantasy 7 remake that was announced three years ago, and the Avengers project from Crystal Dynamics and Eidos Montreal.

The video talks us through the new additions to Just Cause 4, the most prominent of these being the extreme weather system. The December 8 release date does seem to suggest a very optimistic view of its chances though.

Are you looking forward to Just Cause 4?
