Pompeo says North Korea will get 'unique' security guarantees

Kim smiled as he took a selfie with Singapore's Foreign Minister Vivian Balakrishnan at the scenic waterfront Gardens by the Bay.

The foreign minister of Singapore tweeted out a picture of the cake presented to Trump at the luncheon today in Singapore.

South Korean media says Kim went there with his sister Kim Yo Jong and other top deputies.

The summit will be the first meeting between Trump and Kim and mark a turnaround of relations between the two leaders after a long-running exchange of furious threats and insults.

Kim Yo Jong, believed to be 30 and one of the North Korean leader's closest confidants, reportedly arrived at Singapore's Changi Airport about an hour after the despot's Chinese charter plane touched down.

North Korea has previously said it was willing to discuss denuclearization, but experts have expressed concern over the varying definitions of the term held by Washington and Pyongyang.

Rodman announced on Twitter that he would be attending the summit in Singapore to give "whatever support is needed to my friends" referring to both Trump and Kim. Trump and Kim planned to meet one-on-one for most of an hour- joined only by translators. "Those two people will sit in a room tomorrow".

Pompeo has not said if Trump would consider withdrawing almost 28,000 US troops from the Korean Peninsula.

The guards must be about the same height as Kim, BBC said.

He has also dined with US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo in NY.

Trump fired back in a tweet, saying "I too have a Nuclear Button, but it is a much bigger & more powerful one than his, and my Button works!"

He left early, and as he flew to Singapore, he tweeted that he was yanking the USA out of the traditional group statement.

The White House says Trump now plans to depart Singapore on Tuesday evening ahead of schedule.

"Prime Minister Lee complimented the bold and admirable decision by Chairman Kim and President of the United States Donald Trump to come together for this Summit".

North Korea has changed its narrative in recent months.

Officers combed the city on Sunday, from the old colonial section to the modern skyscrapers to the hotel on nearby Sentosa island where Trump and Kim will actually meet.

Larry Kudlow, Trump's economic adviser, said Sunday on CNN that Trudeau's criticism had damaged Trump's prestige before the summit - and that's why Trump reacted so strongly.

Kim is expected to stay at the St Regis hotel and Trump at the Shangri-La, both in the Tanglin area in downtown Singapore.

Kim, on the other hand, has shown he is prepared for his moment on the world stage, and could end up outfoxing Trump, said Victor Cha, a senior adviser and Korea Chair at the Center for Strategic and International Studies in Washington.
