#Russia2018: Three Million Pre-Orders for Nigeria's Super Eagles' Kit

The kit has caused shockwaves in the footballing world, with its traditional emerald shirt colour filtered with white, all arranged in a collage of mini chevrons.

The "retro" kit, modelled on Nigeria's 1994 World Cup debut jersey, was hugely anticipated since pictures were first released in February.

Nike had already received three million pre-order for the shirt before it officially went on sale on Friday.

Dozens of people queued outside Nike's flagship store on Oxford Street, London, before it opened at 10:00 ( 09:00 GMT) in a bid to get their hands on a Nigeria's Fifa World Cup football kit.

Nike confirmed the depressing news on Twitter, adding that there were no plans for restocking the much sought after kit.

Among those featured in the Super Eagles kit advertising campaign are Nigeria and Arsenal player Alex Iwobi, Leicester's Wilfried Ndidi, Grace La Doja, Skepta's manager, WizKid, UK rapper Not3s, Beats 1 presenter Julie Adenuga and photographer Yagazie Emezi.

Nigeria will also play in London this week as they face England in a friendly at Wembley as part of World Cup preparations.

Nigeria's "underdog" football squad need to play together and not as individuals, captain John Mikel Obi said, with the team acknowledging they face a tough group stage at the World Cup in Russian Federation next month. Nigeria's World Cup group contains Argentina, Iceland and Croatia this summer in Russian Federation.
